Operating Principles of the Publishing Board
Board meetings shall be convened by the Chairperson of the Publishing House, at least once a year.
Board resolutions shall be adopted by vote, at a meeting attended by over 50% of all Board members. In the event of a tie, the Chairperson of the Publishing House shall have the casting vote.
The Secretary of the Publishing House shall take minutes of all Board meetings, to be approved by the Chairperson of the Publishing House.
The Publishing Board shall be appointed by the Rector.
In the absence of the Chairperson of the Publishing Board, the meetings shall be chaired by the Chief Editor.
A member of the University Senate shall be entitled to attend Board meetings as an observer.
Both the Publishing Board and the Chairperson of the Publishing Board shall be entitled to invite some other participants to attend the entire Board meetings or their particular parts.
Both the observers and the invited guests shall be entitled to express their opinions.
Functions of the Publishing Board
Review of the yearly editorial calendar.
Expressing their opinions on the circulation figures of all publications.
Review of appeals made by the authors against the decisions of the Chief Editor or Thematic Editors.
Expressing their opinions on matters raised by the Head of the Promotion and Publishing Department or the Chief Editor of the Publishing House.
Functions of the Chief Editor of the Publishing House
Providing support to the Head of the Promotion and Publishing Department in all the activities aimed at improving the efficiency and the proper functioning of the Publishing House.
Representation of the Publishing House in contacts with all third parties, without being authorised to make any financial decisions.
Preparation of Publishing Board meetings.
Preparation, in cooperation with the Chairperson of the Editorial Committee of the Scientific Papers and the Secretary of the Publishing Board, of applications and surveys concerning the scoring of the Scientific Papers and monographs, constituting the main criteria for their positioning in the list of scientific publications or monographs.
Approval of applications for publication of papers and monographs.
Approval in terms of content of submitted materials intended for publication.
The designation of Content Editors of special editions of Scientific Papers or monographs, in cooperation with the Publishing Board or the Deputy Rector.
Making reports on the type of publishing activities conducted by the Publishing House and implementation of the yearly editorial calendar.
Signing publishing contracts with authors and translators as well as contracts with reviewers, technical editors, linguistic editors, etc., as authorised by the Rector.
Verification and approval in terms of content of financial documents (especially bills) pertaining to the implementation of publishing contracts with authors and translators as well as contracts with reviewers, technical editors and linguistic editors.
Cooperation with authors with a view to preparing their publications for printing.
Functions of Thematic Editors
Preliminary evaluation of the scientific value of materials intended for publication.
Evaluation of the publications to be included in the yearly editorial calendar.
Verification of materials intended for publication so that they meet all the criteria set by the Publishing House.
Submission of a whole set of materials intended for publication together with the relevant documentation to the Chief Editor of the Publishing House.
